Choose the G450 when cabin length matters. Three-zone interior layouts seat larger groups more comfortably. The G450's 169 cubic feet of baggage handles 12 passengers with full luggage. Corporate flight departments running multiple same-day legs often prefer the G450's Honeywell PlaneView flight deck, which shares commonality with the G550 and G650 that pilots may already hold type ratings for.

For a standard four-passenger transcon from Teterboro to Van Nuys, either jet delivers a comparable experience. The trip takes roughly 5 hours. The all-in cost falls between $28,000 and $38,000 on either aircraft. The decision at that point is availability and operator quality, not aircraft type.

Flight Deck and Avionics: Two Generations Apart

The G450 flies behind Honeywell's PlaneView cockpit with four 14-inch LCD primary flight displays and a cursor control device. Gulfstream introduced PlaneView on the G550 in 2003 and adapted it for the G450. The system includes Enhanced Vision System (EVS) capability and optional Head-Up Display (HUD).
