Kissimmee Gateway Airport (KISM/ISM) is a public-use general aviation reliever owned by the City of Kissimmee, sitting at 82 ft MSL about 3 miles from downtown Kissimmee. Its proximity to Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and the Osceola County resort corridor (roughly 15 to 30 minutes by car) makes it a convenient private-aviation entry point to the Orlando tourism market while avoiding the airline congestion at Orlando International (MCO), 11 NM east.
Runway Capability
The field offers two grooved-asphalt runways: 15/33 at 6,000 ft (primary) and 6/24 at 5,000 ft. The 6,000 ft length and 82 ft elevation keep density altitude manageable year-round and support light through most super-midsize jets. Heavy jets (Gulfstream G550/G650, Global Express) should run takeoff and landing performance numbers against Florida's high summer temperatures before planning KISM; larger missions often stage at MCO or Orlando Executive (ORL).

KISM is towered from 0700 to 2200 local (124.45); outside those hours it operates as a non-towered field on CTAF, with ATIS on 128.775. Instrument capability includes an ILS/LOC to Runway 15 and RNAV (GPS) approaches to 06, 15, and 33. There is no on-field U.S. Customs and Border Protection, so international flights must clear at a port of entry such as Orlando International (MCO) before continuing to Kissimmee.
Noise & Operational Restrictions
While KISM has no curfew, it publishes noise-abatement guidance that matters for jet operators: a noise-sensitive area lies about a half mile north of the Runway 24 approach end, early turnouts on Runway 6 departures are not authorized, and all jets and turboprops are requested to fly the NBAA close-in departure procedure. With heavy flight-training traffic and 80,000-plus annual operations, expect a busy pattern and coordinate arrivals and departures accordingly.
